The War is Not Ours

Preface: Throughout history, millions of people have willingly sacrificed their lives for Christ. Peter states, “For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps” (1 Pet. 2:21, ESV). Today, if you aren’t being tormented, Satan may be mentally tormenting you. Stay alert, and be ready!

“The professed Protestant world will form a confederacy with the man of sin, and the church and the world will be in corrupt harmony.”1

“Protestantism shall give the hand of fellowship to the Roman power. Then there will be a law against the Sabbath of God’s creation, and then it is that God will do His ‘strange work’ in the earth.”2

“If we place ourselves on the side of God, of Christ and the heavenly intelligences, the broad shield of Omnipotence is with us, the mighty God of Israel is our helper, and we need not fear. Those who touch the people of God, touch the apple of His eye.”3

“Servants of God, with their faces lighted up and shining with holy consecration, will hasten from place to place to proclaim the message from heaven. By thousands of voices, all over the earth, the warning will be given. Miracles will be wrought, the sick will be healed, and signs and wonders will follow the believers.”4

“The completeness of Christian character is attained when the impulse to help and bless others springs constantly from within–when the sunshine of heaven fills the heart and is revealed in the countenance.”5

“Constant war against the carnal mind must be maintained; and we must be aided by the refining influence of the grace of God, which will attract the mind upward and habituate it to meditate upon pure and holy things.”6

“Let not one who believes the truth, be silent now. None should be careless now; let all urge their petitions at the throne of grace, pleading the promise, ‘Whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do’ (John 14:13).”7

“When men press close to the side of Jesus, when Christ is abiding in their hearts by faith, their love for the commandments of God grows stronger in proportion to the contempt which the world heaps upon His holy precepts.”8

“None but those who have fortified the mind with the truths of the Bible will stand through the last great conflict.”9

“The time will come when many will be deprived of the written Word. But if this Word is printed in the memory, no one can take it from us.”10

“Each morning consecrate yourselves and your children to God for that day. Make no calculation for months or years; these are not yours. One brief day is given you. As if it were your last on earth, work during its hours for the Master. Lay all your plans before God, to be carried out or given up, as His providence shall indicate.”11

“The only safety for us is to enter into the counsels of heaven, ever seeking to do the will of God, to become laborers together with Him. No one company is to form a confederacy, and say, ‘We are going to take this work, and carry it on in our own way; and if it does not go as we want it to, we will not give our influence to have it go at all.’ This is Satan’s voice, not God’s. Do not obey such suggestions.”12
